Why Did I Became A Professional Life Coach?

I believe that our lives prepare us for our highest and best paths; you may refer to this as your calling or purpose. Often the preparation comes through challenges because it is our challenges that sculpt us to become the highest version of ourselves. This is certainly true for me. Although my training in life coaching is extensive, it is truly my life experiences that have made me a great life coach.

At twelve years old I became incessantly interested in spiritually, metaphysics, yoga and psychology. Unfortunately, none of that did anything to change my lack self-esteem. Imprisoned by low self-esteem, at the age of 16, I found myself in a physically abusive relationship which lasted about a year. In order to free myself, I had to really choose life and for the first time, I had to choose me. Hindsight, I can see that it was really a rites of passage into owning my life.

Shortly thereafter, I found myself unexpectedly pregnant and very confused. After deciding to have the child and raise him as a single parent, I made a commitment to making sure that my son would know his worth. Of course, I hadn't a clue what this really meant, so I embarked on a long journey of finding it for myself so that I could give it to my son; after all, you cannot give something that you don't have.

This journey led me through hundreds of books, classes, and everything that you could imagine. Ultimately, I discovered the true meaning of self esteem and intrinsic worth, and that when you really find it, it disappears. You become that which you sought.

By the time I was in my mid-twenties, I had a compelling desire to help others move from dis-empowerment to empowerment. As a result, I became a crisis counselor at a large crisis center on Long Island in New York. In the 6 plus years that I worked there, I became an expert on depression, suicide, transgenderism, rape, domestic violence, sexuality, communication, counseling and a long list of much more.

As much as I loved helping people at this level, I had a growing desire to serve at a higher level of empowerment.I went back to school thinking that I would become a psychologist but along the way, and two more children later, I discovered a new thing called Life Coaching. After getting my Bachelor of Science in Community and Human Services, I sought professional training to become a life coach.

I don't know how people found me, but before long I was coaching people worldwide. And I loved it! I made it my own and Life Coaching became an umbrella for all my gifts and talents. I took everything that I knew about transformation, law of attraction, psychology, spiritually, intuition, love, forgiveness, self esteem and how the Universe works and I turned it into a powerful gift that I could give to anyone who was ready and willing for a new life or a new beginning.

People often find me when they are ready to free themselves from living in a way that no longer suits them and they are ready to become Conscious Creators of their own lives.
